Villar on the death of ex-Gov. Arman Sanchez

The Nacionalista Party (NP), led by its standard-bearer Sen. Manny Villar, expresses sadness over the untimely demise of a very important ally in the province of Batangas.

Sanchez was rushed to the Mary Medtiarix Medical Center in Lipa City Monday afternoon after collapsing during a campaign sortie there. He passed away at around 7:20pm on Tuesday.

Villar learned about Sanchez's death while during a campaign rally in Zamboanga. During the Rockatropa concert rally, he asked the audience to pause and offer a minute of prayer for Sanchez, NP's candidate for governor in Batangas.

NP, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), can field another candidate to replace Sanchez and has until noon of May 10 to announce the party's new candidate for governor.

Villar, together with other NP candidates, are going straight to Batangas from Zamboanga today (Wednesday).
