Most businesses reported strong recovery in 2022 as the so-called consumers’ revenge spending lifted sales. This phenomenon continued in the first quarter of 2023 and will likely persist if we can keep Covid cases manageable, without resorting to border restrictions again.

One of the reasons why I love to travel is that it expands our perspectives. By seeing other places, experiencing other cultures, and, living — even for a brief moment — another way of life, we are able to compare our situation with that of other countries. Comparison improves our perspective because it allows us to create a vision and, more importantly, a benchmark for things we need to improve on in the Philippines.

Rail transportation is by far the most efficient way of sending commuters and workers to their offices and destinations. Here in Metro Manila, the rail lines offer the best mode of transportation for our weary workers and students. Commuter trains are fast while travel time is predictable, unlike jeepneys and buses that must navigate the maze of road networks in the metropolis.
