It was an aspiration that started blossoming in 2011. We held the 1st OFW and Family Summit on Nov. 24 with the theme “Kabuhayan Para sa Kinabukasan” which encapsulated our vision for Filipinos working abroad — that they acquire the skills and knowledge of entrepreneurship so that the money they earned through hard work and a lot of sacrifice will not go to waste.

Our economy shows resilience amid various challenges, but one sector that needs further improvement is our exports that lag behind imports in terms of growth.


Boosting our exports will help cure our widening trade deficit and prevent the depreciation of the peso against the US dollar and other currencies.

Build rather than burn bridges. This is one of the tenets I have adhered to in my life, professionally and personally. It is something that is difficult to do especially in our current times where social media has amplified divisions and where civility seems to be optional rather than required.
