By the time this column sees print, we will already know the early results of the May 9 elections and the front-runners in the presidential, vice-presidential and senatorial races based on the automated tabulation of votes.

While it may take a few more days to have the complete list of the new set of elected government officials, it is time to look back and note the momentous steps taken under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Elections are less than a week away and candidates are all in a frenzied rush towards the homestretch. The 90-day campaign (45 for local races) blew by like a 30-minute political ad. After a campaign period filled with controversies (real and imagined), acrimony, and relentless attempts to convince every voter it all boils down to one day — May 9, 2022.

If there is one lesson to learn from the pandemic, it is the willingness and resolve to adapt to the changes in the business environment. Businesses, both large and small, often meet market challenges. But adjusting to new economic conditions and shifting customer preferences will ensure business survival and growth.
