Last December 12, we were fortunate to have as our guest of honor no less than President Rodrigo Duterte. The occasion was a simple one—the unveiling of The Tent at Vista Global South. This is the biggest tent venue south of Metro Manila with a maximum capacity of up to 5,000. It is big, beautiful, and modern. More importantly it is located far away from the metro gridlock.

In a span of one year, from November 2018 to November 2019, we lost three titans of industry in the Philippines—George Ty, Henry Sy, Sr., and John Gokongwei, Jr. These three iconic entrepreneurs helped build not just our economy but our nation as well. When they started their businesses which later grew into some of the biggest in the country, they helped the country in wealth creation and distribution by mobilizing wealth and creating jobs.

Critics of the administration and other fault-finders are becoming louder and bolder in their favorite pastimes. I have expected such sniping from the opposition halfway through the term of President Duterte.
