In a span of one year, from November 2018 to November 2019, we lost three titans of industry in the Philippines—George Ty, Henry Sy, Sr., and John Gokongwei, Jr. These three iconic entrepreneurs helped build not just our economy but our nation as well. When they started their businesses which later grew into some of the biggest in the country, they helped the country in wealth creation and distribution by mobilizing wealth and creating jobs.

Critics of the administration and other fault-finders are becoming louder and bolder in their favorite pastimes. I have expected such sniping from the opposition halfway through the term of President Duterte.

The opening ceremonies of the Southeast Asian Games were a spectacular display of Filipino culture, excellence, and unity. Just like many of our countrymen, I felt so proud watching the dazzling performances that showcased our traditions and showed to the world what we are as a people.
