President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address on July 24, 2023 accurately summed up the current situation of the Philippines and its people, and relayed our aspirations and dreams to have a better quality of life by sustaining our economic momentum, building infrastructures and protecting our environment.

It is a tradition and a Constitutional mandate. The highest law of the land requires the highest official of the land to address Congress at the start of its session.

The infrastructure gap in the Philippines will keep growing unless we put a funding vehicle in place to bridge the divide.

Many of our citizens are perhaps perplexed over the slow progress of infrastructure development in the country. But we can learn a lesson or two from our Asian neighbors, which have found a way to push big infrastructure projects.
