Our hearts go out to the people of Mindanao specifically those from Sarangani, Davao Occidental and General Santos City which appeared to have taken the brunt of the magnitude 6.8 earthquake that hit the region last Nov. 19. According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) they are still verifying the casualty figures but initial reports indicated that three deaths were recorded in General Santos City; two in Glan, Sarangani; and one each in Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental; and Malapatan, Sarangani.

Last Oct. 30, 2023, my family and I trooped to the Las Piñas City National Science High School in Talon Dos to cast our votes for the Barangay and SK Elections. I was joined by my wife Cynthia and my children Mark, Paolo and Camille. The voting went smoothly and I would like to congratulate all the teachers and other election officials and workers who made our exercise of suffrage sans any suffering.

This is according to Forbes, which released its annual billionaire list on Tuesday, April 6. The magazine reported the business tycoon’s net worth at $7.2 billion—an increase of $1.6 billion, compared to his reported $5.6 billion last year.

Former lawmaker and real estate magnate Manny Villar is still the richest Filipino in the Forbes World's Billionaires List this 2021.
He is among the 17 Filipinos in the international publication's list, up from last year's 15. Forbes listed 2,755 billionaires worldwide this 2021, also higher from the 2,095 the year prior.
